Obituary of Patricia M. Studer
On November 29, 2018, Patricia Mary (Flynn) Studer passed away due to age-related health issues. Patricia was the devoted daughter of Bernard and Cecelia (Mitchell) Flynn; beloved wife of Paul W. Studer for over 65 years; mother of Paul M. Studer of Peoria, AZ, Laurieanne M. Schwab of Clinton Township, NJ, Lynne M. Goettsch of Lopatcong Township, NJ, Robert J. Studer of Cheverly, MD, Mary R. Murdock of High Bridge, NJ and Christine M. Lukowski of Nazareth, PA; grandmother of Daniel Studer, Lauren MacDonald, Allison Goettsch, Kristina Schwab, Holly Goettsch, Erin Murdock, Ryan Murdock, Adam Murdock, Kelly Lukowski, and Eric Lukowski, and two great grandchildren, Reagan MacDonald and Jack William Studer.
Pat met Paul after her singing performance at Chicago Vocational School. They started dating while at CVS and after graduation, their engagement, followed by their marriage on September 26, 1953. They settled in Hometown, IL, and after the arrival of their six children, the family moved to New Jersey in 1968 and settled in Clinton Township. Pat began working for United Telephone Service in 1970, and retired in 1998. She was wonderfully talented in the arts, particularly drawing, painting and singing. She sang with North Hunterdon chapter of Sweet Adelines, a womens barbershop choir. Pat enjoyed reading and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pat was an active congregant at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and her faith sustained her down the many roads of her life, celebrating the peaks and persevering through the valleys. She was a rock for her family and will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her. We are comforted with the knowledge that she is at peace, and that her spirit is reunited with those that preceded her, and she will be a guide to all those she leaves behind.
