Obituary of William R Jermyn

William R. Jermyn, age 95, passed away at the NJ Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater on Saturday, January 5, 2019.

Born in Beaver Meadows, PA, he was the son of the late Richard J. and Olive (Kisthardt) Jermyn.  He was a graduate of Hazelton High School, and an army veteran of WWII.

Bill, along with his wife Reba, lived in Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas and Louisiana before settling in Branchburg, NJ in 1956.  Over the years, he worked for the Silas-Mason Co., American Cyanamid Co. and retired in 1986 from Union Carbide Corp. after 25 plus years of service in the Maintenance Dept.

Bill was an active member of the Readington Reformed Church for 60 years.  During that time he served on the Consistory, Building and Grounds Committee and as Financial Secretary, and was known for his enthusiastic singing of hymns.  He was an avid golfer, loved to work outside in his garden and had the skills and ability to repair absolutely everything.

He was predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Reba E. Jermyn, his brother, Richard Jermyn and his sister, Elizabeth Rossi.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Jane E. Jermyn of Branchburg, his sister, Lysod Kunkel of Bridgewater and by five nieces and two nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Readington Reformed Church in Readington, followed by burial in the Readington Reformed Church Cemetery.
