Obituary of Olena Waszczynsky

Olena Waszczynsky, age 98 of Whitehouse Station, died peacefully at home on Thursday, January 24, 2019.

Born in the Ukraine, she immigrated to the United States from Europe in 1952.

She lived in Jersey City, Bridgewater and then Raritan before moving to Whitehouse Station two and a half years ago.

Olena loved gardening and was known for her beautiful flowers.  She loved to give parties and entertain and enjoyed cooking, especially ethnic food.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter in 1987 and her son, Michael William in 1998.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Mary Waszczynsky of Whitehouse Station.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at 12:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.

Friends may visit prior to the service from 10:00 to 12:00 PM.

Entombment will be in St. Bernard's Mausoleum in Bridgewater.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Olena’s memory are requested to a charity of your choice.
