Born in Bound Brook, NJ, he was the son of the late Elia and Josephine Barbati. Ray had been a resident of Whitehouse Station for the past 64 years. He was a Navy veteran having honorably served his country during WWII. Ray was a member of the East Whitehouse Fire Company for many years and served as the scoutmaster for pack 198 while his children were young. He loved the game of baseball and spent many hours rooting for his beloved Yankees. He had a sharp mind and completed a daily crossword puzzle using a pen for the extra challenge. He was predeceased in 2011 by his beloved wife of 59 years, Marguerite. He is survived by his three sons, Gregory and his wife, Audrey of Stewartsville, Thomas and his wife, Carol of Branchburg and Douglas of PA; his two daughters, Holly Todd of Whitehouse Station and Jennifer Barbati of FL; his 13 grandchildren, Zachary, Allison, Madeline, Cary, Victoria, Hannah, Adrianna, Vincent, Ryan, Catarina, Christian, Benjamin and Destiny; and by his one great grandchild, Evelyn. Services will be private and are being held under the direction of the Kearns Funeral Home in Whitehouse.
