Obituary of Mitchell Greenbaum
Mitchell Greenbaum, age 64 of Whitehouse Station, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Joseph and the late Pearl Greenbaum.
Mitch was a resident of Somerset County for over 28 years before moving to Whitehouse Station 2 years ago.
He worked as a purchasing agent for Dematic Corporation in Basking Ridge and also worked part time for Unionville Vineyards for over 15 years conducting tours and working in the tasting room.
Mitch was a member of the Whitehouse United Methodist Church. He was the president of Gardeners of Somerset Valley and spent many volunteer hours tending to the gardens at Duke Farms. He had an adventurous spirit and was a great lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed tennis, swimming, hiking, skiing and good wine. He loved to entertain and looked forward to the NJ Festival of Ballooning each year when he would host balloon watching parties. He was a kind and generous man and he touched the lives of so many.
Mitch was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helene in 2012.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Fanslow and her husband, Steven of South River, NJ; his father, Joseph of Jackson, NJ; his brother, Allan and his wife, Eleanor of East Brunswick, his two nieces, Bonnie and Jennifer and her husband, Scott and his three cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Amber and Tyler and his two grand nephews, Michael and Dylan.
A service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Whitehouse United Methodist Church, 73 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888.
