Obituary of Jane Dorthea Castner

Jane Dorthea Castner, age 72 of Annandale, NJ, died surrounded by those she loved at her home on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Born in Somerville, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Charlotte (Brownlee) Castner.

Jane was a longtime resident of Hunterdon County and had lived in Annandale for the past 36 years.

She believed strongly in education and earned several degrees throughout her lifetime. She was an attorney and worked for several firms before opening her own practice.

Jane loved the outdoors and gardening.  She was adventurous and had a small plane and balloon pilots’ license.  She enjoyed both kayaking and sailing and spent many enjoyable afternoons at Spruce Run and the Sandy Hook Bay.   

She is survived by her beloved brother, John Castner and his wife, Tara of Bloomsbury; her nephew, Jeff Castner,  his wife, Erin and their son Curtis of Hellertown, PA; her niece, Nora Castner of Tuebingen, Germany, as well as many, many dear friends.
