I was honored to know George. I remember his heart for serving God. We were on a committee together and I scheduled a meeting - it happened to fall on my birthday. He bought me a birthday cake and we celebrated at the meeting. After all, he said, no one should celebrate their birthday alone. I haven't seen him since 2012, but I have thought of him often.
