Obituary of John D. Dooley
John Jack Dooley, age 63, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at his home in Hampton, NJ.
Born in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late John William and Francis Dooley. Jack lived in Clinton prior to moving to Hampton 30 years ago. He married his lovely wife Barbara (Lane) in 1968. This April they would have celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary.
Jack was a music teacher who started his career at the South River High School and ended it, 35 years later, at the Flemington-Raritan School District when he retired in 2003. Besides his family, music was Jacks passion and he touched many people through his music. He was a member and played the bagpipes in The Leatherneck Pipe and Drums and the St. Anns of Hampton Pipes and Drums.
Jack spent many weekends with his family fixing up their 200-year-old farmhouse and restoring antiques. He relaxed by playing golf at the Oak Hill Golf Club.
Besides his wife Barbara, he is survived by his son; John, of Morristown; his daughter, Jennifer Tirado, of Brooklyn, NY; a brother, Richard of Sugarland, Texas; three sisters, Patricia Barry of Hillsborough, Jacqueline LaFrance of Washington and Marie Weiler of Kunkletown, PA.
