Obituary of Scott Oldenburg

Scott Oldenburg, age 42 of Stockton, NJ, died Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in Manhattan, NY. Born in Flemington, NJ, he was the son of Howard and Elizabeth Oldenburg. He graduated from Hunterdon Central High School in 1983 and attended Somerset Community College. He married Camille Stellato in 1986. First and foremost, Scott was a family man who loved his wife and two boys. He was an outdoorsman who loved spending time teaching his boys how to hunt and fish. He was a Police Lieutenant, with the Readington Township Police Department with over 22 years of devoted service to the force and the residents of Readington Township. Scott was a member and past officer of PBA 317. He received the 200 Clubs Award for outstanding service in 1987. He was one of the original members of the Hunterdon County SWAT Team and a past member of the Whitehouse Station Fire Company. He was the founder, head football commissioner and coach for Pop Warners Del Val Dogs football team and he was also a coach for the Del Val Chargers Junior Lacrosse Team. Scott was a self-made builder and electrician who took pride in constructing each of the three homes his family has lived in. He is survived by his wife, Camille, his two sons, Michael and Danny, his mother, Elizabeth Oldenburg of Lambertville; his father, Howard and his wife, Dorothy Buckingham of Cape Coral, FL; his brother, Trevor of Kingwood Twp; and his three sisters, Christina Hall of Delaware Twp; Linda Francis of Bethlehem Twp; and Alisa Swider of Franklin Twp. Scott is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 105 Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ.
