My sincere sorrow to the Halligan family for your loss. Jimmy came by to see all his friends a few weeks ago at our Holiday luncheon and I was fortunate enough to see him and had the opportunity to give him a big hug a kiss and wished him a Merry Christmas. He will always be remembered at Lab Corp. We see him every day in our cafeteria which was named after him. Jimmy I will miss you your friend and co-worker.

There is not one specific memory that I have of my Uncle Jim that stands out. But anytime or anywhere we were together he always had a huge warm and welcoming hug and took the time to talk and ask me how life was going and "catch up" on what's new since we were last together. He always made me feel like that I was "his favorite neice." The Halligans will not be the same without him.
I will love and miss him always,
Laura Jean

We are forever grateful that Papa Jim and Nana treated Brianna and Hunter as if they were their own grandchildren. In fact, I don't really know if Brianna and Hunter understand that Nana and Papa Jim aren't their grandparents!
We are so saddened by this sudden loss, but are thankful that Papa Jim (& Nana too) shared their lives with us, Brianna, & Hunter.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing him since 1986 at Roche/LabCorp and remember his incredible sense of humor, wonderfully sarcastic wit and ability to make you laugh when you needed it most.We had many a conversation that always brightened my day. He was always willing to help anyone, anytime and had changed a few flat tires for me in the parking lot(one in the rain!)then taught me how to change it myself in case it happened on the road so I wouldn't be stranded. His caring for others and selflessness was evident in his actions everyday. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and he will always be remembered by those who knew him even if he touched their lives for only a brief moment.

To The Halligans,
I cannot express my sadness at your and our loss!
I first knew Jim when he was chief of the fire co and I was squad captain. Obviously our paths crossed often. It was when I saw his beautiful wood bird carvings that we became friends. I was interested in learning how to carve and I asked him if he would teach me. We would get together one night a week as soon as summer cooled down. We would sit in his Duck Shop with his dog Baron and carve, talk and laugh. We solved all of the worlds problems and carved many birds together. We spoke of our childrens antics, bird migrations, what was flying into the area and what artists were carving what. This lasted for years. I still carve and occasionally would stop over for Jim`s critique. Whenever I finish a carving I always ask myself would Jim like it. He taught me to carve but even more important he showed me a generosity of spirit I will always treasure. Godspeed Jim!! your student Denis

I shall always remember the
ride from Raritan to NYC in 1975 through Brooklyn, (oh what a surprise) so I could see the old KCRL building. He told me that his wife had given him permission to buy the early SUV he was driving. Jim did much for KCRL, RCL, RBL and LCA. Just look at 69 First Avenue and of course, Halligan Hall.
I send Mrs. Halligan and family my deepest sympathy and heartfelt gratitude that I had the pleasure of knowing such a fine gentleman.
Sorrow for now but celebrate his life. It was special.

Its hard to say goodbye to someone you love especially when they leave so unexpectedly but its very easy to remember someone. And i will always remember my "Papa Jim" and our laughs together. I'll especially remember ALL the times he tried telling me something and my only responce would be "WHAT?!" bc i couldnt understand him half the damn time but i certainly understood him when i was a little girl and Nana thought it would be a good idea for me to drive the tractor untill i drove it into Papa Jim's brand new truck! lol. Love you Pops!
