I recall my father, Bill Kurth, spending quite a bit of time with Walter through the American Legion and more so the Rescue Squad. Both were extremely dedicated to making that organization the very best it could be. As a Son of the American Legion, I seem to remember Walter helping square us away at some of the annual parades. He was a good and caring man who did a great deal for Whitehouse and the people who lived there.
