Obituary of Katherine Eleanor Bartley

Katherine Eleanor Bartley, age 83 of Bedminster, NJ, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Bridgeway Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ. Born in Newark, NJ, she was the last surviving child of the late Joseph and Johanna Murphy. Prior to her marriage, Katherine worked for General Instrument in Elizabeth, NJ. She married Charles Bartley in 1954 and was an extremely loving and caring wife. She was a foster mom to many children, whom she and Charles cared for like their own. She was a dedicated Mom and "Grammie." Katherine was a communicant of St. Elizabeth's Church in Far Hills, NJ. She will be greatly missed by all her family, including her personal caretaker, Giovanna. Katherine is survived by her husband, Charles, of 59 years; her children, Beverly Ricci and her husband Robert of Manville, John Bartley and his wife, Heidi, of Bridgewater, Charlene Bartley-Burns of Manville, and Christopher Bartley and his wife, Aurora, of Whitehouse Station; her five grandchildren, Sean R. and his wife, Cindy Bartley, of Flemington, Jessica K. Bartley of Manville, Janelle J. Bartley of Manville, Gage M. Bartley of Whitehouse Station, and Melissa and Ryan McCauley of Tewksbury; and her five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving nieces; Kathleen Sypko of Linden, Patricia Cymbaluk of Rahway, and her nephew, Michael Murphy of Vernon, NJ. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 11, 2013, from 5:00 - 8:00PM, at the Kearns Funeral Home Ltd, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse, NJ 08888. Entombment will be private.
