I only "knew" Marion through her loving daugter Diane. Her legacy of grace was surely passed to her daughter.

I met Marion at Independence Manor...a friend of my mother-in-law Rose Hersch. She always had a smile and always a warm hello. Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family...she will be missed greatly. Hope you find comfort in the treasured memories you will always hold dear in your heart.

Dear Mom,
Now you have gone and left those of us who remain to your indelible memory: Your indomitable spirit, your caring, loving nature, your love of life and this world and the sunshine that you bestowed on each and every person whose life touched yours. I remember the warmth and love that suffused your homes at Rock Ridge Lake and St. Petersburg. I remember the companionship, support and love you gave Diane and me and our children, as you did for all your children and their spouses, your grand-
children and great grand-
children. I remember our car rides and the ice cream cones at the end of them at Craving's and Dilley's. I remember your support and love during my darkest times.
But, of course, I hardly knew you. It was only through a stroke of inex- plicable fortune in the past two years that I came to know and understand the enormity of what you had accomplished, to overcome, push aside and survive in order to arrive at and be the kind, loving and caring person you became and were. As a result of that revelation, I came to know and understand you not only as a courageous, caring person who had overcome childhood polio, loss of a mother in early childhood and other, numerous adversities. I came to know you as a heroine of almost saintly proportions whose journey of life and spirit covered a distance and a height no being, mortal or immortal, could rightfully or reason- ably expect. Clearly, what you experienced and endured during the 1930's, the time of the Great Depression, took great courage and fortitude. If there is a God; if there is a Heaven where justice in its purest form exists, I know you are there united with Poppy, both your parents , and all whom you loved who went before you. If there is not, I still know your indomitable, enduring spirit survives to be some day reunited with all whom you loved and who loved you.
George Eliot once
wrote that the true heros were not the "saints" who went to foreign countries to help the poor. They were people, like you Mom, who lived their lives out in familiar places, enduring unbearable and unknown hardships while going through the routine of their daily lives. Your spirit is not a candle. It is an eternal flame. Love always, Lyn.

My Dearest Mom,
God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes I lovingly stroked your hair and held your hand until you took your last breath and passed away. Although your
loving heart stopped beating, you will be in my heart wherever I go, and I will love you forever with the most special love. Your loving daughter, Diane

I got the phone message to my late mom, Marie Enright in St. Petersburg, FL telling of the passing of your mom.
My mom, Marie, passed away last Aug. 20th in Wisconsin where I moved her 4 yrs. ago to be closer to me.
Marie spoke often of her dear friend Marion, often teasing me about the spelling of our names: mine being "an" and your mom "on."
Thank you for calling. Our deepest condolences.

I came to know Marion while visiting her neighbors in St. Pete, Alex and Frances, as a Hospice volunteer. She invited me to visit her too. I enjoyed my times with Marion in her lovely little house. I filled many bags with oranges and grapefruit from her trees. It was only this morning that I saw her obituary here. May Marion rest in perfect peace.
Sincerely,
Sr. Pat

Dearest Mom,
As you journey to lay at rest with Dad, "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sunshine warm your face, the rain fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of HIs hand." Amen
(Irish Blessing)

As a neighbor across the street, my fondest memories are from my childhood, when she would wrap my hair in rag curls... I remember it seemed to take forever, but she had so much patience, and then I had to sleep on them, which hurt a lot! But I was so proud of my curls for the next few days!! I think I still have some of those rags!
I also remember her smile, which seemed to be lit from so deep with in that it shone very brightly through her eyes...and often seemed a truly joyful impish grin!
Namaste... Amy
