Kathleen and family I am so sorry for the passing of Ed. What a kind and gracious man he was. Always encouraging. My prayer for my children has always been that God would raise them up to be righteous men and women of Christ and that they would bring glory and praise to His name. When I reflect back on people that have lived that type of life, I always thought of Ed. So filled with the love of Christ. So I leave you with the blessing that Ed always prayed over me, " May the Lord bless you and keep you, may the Lord shine His face upon you and be gracious to you, and give you peace."

So sorry for the loss of Mr. Insel. I remember him as such a gentleman when he would come to the BB games. Knowing Jim and Ed, who were outstanding students and individuals, it was evident to me what a good man and father he must have been. I hope your memories and love will get you all through this difficult time.

I remember the first time I met Ed: he was in the hospital, lying there very sick, but his eyes were alight with faith and love, and his voice was strong as he sang to me the hymns he loved. I knew then I was meeting a very special man, who knew the joy of the deep love of Jesus.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Edward. He was an amazing man. He sat for hours with my sister and myself at the HRCC during our treatments telling us stories and making us laugh. He was a wonderful asset to the volunteers at HMC. He will be truly missed.

Ed joined "Partners in Healing", a special group of cancer survivors who emotionally support other cancer patients at Hunterdon Medical Center in 2002. He quickly became our most popular member with the patients because of his caring and thoughtful ways. We used to kid him because no matter which one of us came into the hospital, at least one if not several of the patients in the chemo bays would get a disappointed look on their face and ask "but where is Ed?" not understanding that he could not be there every day. Ed was known for his gigantic hugs and all of us looked forward to them, both patients and Partners. He always displayed the way he felt about his God and his family. He delighted in telling us about the accomplishments of his children and his grandchildren. Most of all he simply glowed when he spoke of Kathleen. Those of us who have come to know her over the years quickly came to understand why. When people speak of "their other half", anyone who knew them understood the meaning completely.
I could go on about Ed, but I can sum it up very simply in that he was a good man and we all are the less for his passing. We will miss him here, but I'm sure God is keeping him very busy in heaven after bestowing on him those words we would all like to hear, "Well done good and faithful servant."
Thank you to Kathleen and the family for sharing him with us. We will all miss the beautiful person that he was.
