One benefit of not seeing Howard for so long is that my memories are of the happy times -- when Howard was well. I will always remember him and his trumpet, at a WUMC party, after a little too much wine. He lit up the gathering, in more ways than one. Howard always made me laugh, always made me feel good about myself -- always a compliment, a tease, a little joke. I hope we can all recapture those memories.

Dear Barb,
We are saddened upon learning of Howard's passing. We really enjoyed knowing him, his sense of humor, his trumpet, and his grit and determination to keep on through his illness. Please know that our prayers are with you and your family through the times ahead, as they have been through the years past. Our love to you.

We recall fondly Howard playing his trumpet at church, speaking his mind and smiling with that gleam in his eyes. He was present at the baptism of all three of our children and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We are quite sure that Howard is playing first chair in God's mighty brass section!
Barbara, Chuck, Bonnie and Elaine; know that your father and husband made a significant impact with his talents and touched many people. We will miss him

Classmate at Columbia, fraternity brother and honored to serve as an usher at Barbara & Howard's wedding. We were thrilled when they chose a home in our neighborhood and enjoyed a close friendship through the years. Howard added a spark whereever he was. He and his trumpet will be missed by all who knew him.
