Obituary of Howard M. Pettebone

Howard M. Pettebone died on July 28,2011at home surrounded by wife, Barbara and his health Aide and friend, Sam Agebesi. Howard had been ill since 1993 with transverse myelitis & Lewy Body dementia. Howard was born in Forty Fort, Pa. May 28, 1931. He was the only son of Howard & Louise Pettebone. He was an NROTC student at Columbia College in NYC. Graduated in 1953 & served 3 years in the Navy as a supply corps officer. After his discharge from the Navy he became a CPA at Arthur Young & Co in NYC. In 1959 he joined the First National Bank of Central Jersey as an installment loan officer. In 1966 was named vice president and retired as the president of Bank of America in 1991. In 1955 he married Barbara Ouellette. Their family includes: Elaine Ford and her husband, Edwin, Charles Pettebone and Bonnie Carden and her husband, Tom and six grandchildren, Joshua, Jennifer and Sarah Kane, Stephanie and Heather Carden and Blaise Pettebone. Howard will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of softball and tennis and playing his horn! A funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
