Obituary of Michele Verta

Michele (Mike) Verta, age 65 of Whitehouse Station, NJ., died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington. Born in Cetraro, Italy, he was the son of the late Santino and Giovanna Verta of Italy. Michele moved to the United States in 1970 settling in Roselle Park. In 1981 He moved to Whitehouse Station. He served in the Italian Military Service from 1964 to 1966. Michele and his brother-In-law owned and operated C&M Construction in Whitehouse Station for 17 years. In 1997, Mike and his son, Santo started their own business, Verta and Son Masonry also in Whitehouse Station. Michele was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Whitehouse Station and a member of the San Benedetti Italian American Club in Elizabeth, NJ. Besides his mother, Giovanna, Michele is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Concetta, his loving son, Santo Verta of Queens, NY and his loving daughter, Francesca Colao and her husband, Leon of Glen Gardner, NJ. He is also survived by his precious grandson, Luciano Colao and his dear brother, Salvatore Verta of Italy and sister, Carmela Verta also of Italy. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
