Obituary of Floyd T. Bishop
Floyd T. Bishop, Jr., age 81, of Tewksbury Twp., NJ, died Thursday, March 29, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Whitehouse Station, NJ, he was the son of the late Floyd T. and Mildred Bishop, Sr.
Floyd graduated from Flemington High School in 1949. In 1954 Floyd and his brother, Bill opened Bishop's Market and in1973 they expanded and opened Bishop & Bishop Wine and Spirits Liquor Store.
Floyd had a true passion for hunting, fishing and travel. He was former player on the Whitehouse AA baseball team. When he was no longer playing he became the manager of the team. Floyd was also a member of the Flemington Elks.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Bishop, his son, Edward Bishop, his sister, Carol Buck and his brother, Charles Bishop.
Floyd is survived by his 3 sons; Jim Bishop and his wife, Grace, Tom Bishop and David Bishop. He is also survived by his brother, William Bishop and his wife, Jane and his 4 grandkids, Candi Bishop, Danny Bishop, Meghan Bishop and Christopher Bishop and his great grandchild, Colten Bishop.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
