Obituary of Matilda Vladich

Matilda Vladich, age 92, formerly of Whitehouse, died peacefully on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA. Born in Whitehouse, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Matilda Vladich. Matilda lived all of her life in Whitehouse prior to moving to Nazareth four years ago. Matilda was the manager at the Ryland Inn Restaurant for many years. She was a tough boss but worked harder than anyone and that is why, everyone who worked for Matilda respected her. After her retirement from the Ryland Inn Matilda was a waitress at the Readington Diner. She was a devout member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and participated in the Womens Softball Leage in Whitehouse. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her two sisters, Catherine Oakes and Martha Bushnell and her brother, Edward Vladich. She is survived by her two nephews, Harry Oakes and his wife, Helen of Easton, PA; and Dr. Andrew Bushnell and his wife Kate of Syracuse, NY and her three nieces, Eileen Todd and her husband, Robert of Lebanon, NJ; Susanna Claffey of Dublin, Ireland; and Patricia Brownd and her husband, James of Stallings, NC; and many great nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Kearns Funeral Home, 103 Old Highway 28, Whitehouse. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitehouse Station. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 390 County Road 523, Whitehouse, NJ 08889.
