Dear Chet and family,
I was saddened to learn of Lorraine's passing. I remember her fondly from the years we lived in Whitehouse. It's been a while but I always think of each of you when we came back to visit.

To the Smalley family:
May the good Lord grant you all comfort as you begin this journey of grief.
I was a classmate of Lorraine's in Berkeley Heights from grammar school through high school and my family was a next door neighbor of the Mischlers for many years.
As Marcia (Tamaroff) Schachter has written, I share many of the same fond memories of Lorraine. I just recently found some photos of us together at one of my birthday parties and some newspaper clippings about our Girl Scout Troop.
Lorraine was a sweet, caring person and I am sure she will be missed by many. I regret that our lives took such separate paths and that we were not able to connect very often. I am glad to have met you, Chet, and to have had a good visit with you both at our 45th reunion.
With sincere sympathy,
Mary Ann (Anderson) White

Dear Chet and family, I an a childhood friend from Berkeley Heights. My sincere condolences for the loss of sweet Lorraine. That is exactly how I remember her. We had a group of girls who were friends for many years at Columbia and
Regional HS. I think you know by now we were trying to find Lorraine to include her in our small reunion in Florida. By a sad coincidence we found her obituary. We will be thinking of her and talking about our fun times together.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Fondly, Carol

I was totally shocked to hear about Lorraine's passing from another of the Berkeley Heights Class of 1953, Ellen Williamson Haase, who read it on Facebook---one of the new personal media posts I do not do!
However Chet, some members of this class are gathering here in West Palm Beach, at the end of March for some time to reconnect and reminisce. We will definitely include Lorraine in our remembrances as we all go back to Columbia School days when it was the only school in town. Most of us haven't lived in Jersey for lots of years but it's fun to recall some of the silly things that happened both in school and in girl scouts, especially when our Senior Scout leader, Mrs. Keeler, lived across the street from the Mischlers.
I have tried many times to call or email you while I was in Allentown visiting our
daughter's family. Somehow we missed reaching you so we really had not kept up with each of your health conditions. Since the obit did not contain the reason for Lorraine's death, I surely hope that she did not suffer for any length of time and left this world with her family around her.
Please know that we really enjoyed having you both at our 49th Public School gathering in Berkeley Hts. and our 45th High School Reunion the next night. You
both made my evenings more pleasant as my husband was back home in Florida.
Hope that you are in good health and continue to enjoy being surrounded by your son, daughter and grandsons. With Warmest Regards, Marcia Schachter
